Chef Dee Bennett is running the kitchen. Tables are turning and Chef is locked in. He’s been here before.
In walks Caleb—first day on the job and everyone knows it. He follows the manager down to the kitchen, where she announces to Chef Dee, “Caleb’s going to be your food-runner tonight.”
“Who the f#@k is Caleb?!” he barks as he fires a series of entrees.
“That’s me,” the kid rocks up way too confidently. “What do I do?”
The look on Chef Dee’s face is priceless as he stares through the steam rolling off the expo station. Friday night and they stuck him with the new kid?
“Okay, look,” Chef says, “you’ve got one job...
