Travel and taste the world with five friends who experience culture, life and laughter beyond their upbringing and share their love of all things food that you can enjoy close to home!

This trip took the five friends to a food paradise down the coast of Latin America, where bright Peruvian flair meets oriental flavor. Calle Sol more than satisfied that desire for a true Latin cuisine spiced up with an Asian inspired twist. Mixing authenticity and a unique blend of the two cultures, Restaurateur Frank Scibelli has truly created an experience the moment we walked through the door. The colorful inspired ambiance, through music and decor, invited us to embody life from Cuba to Peru and back again. It was hard to choose a drink from the various options, however, both the Flamboyancy and the Stiltsville Special- rum and tequila tropical juice mixed drinks- won both the ladies over.

Chef Paul Cruz created an amazing array of succulent ceviches, one with marinated octopus and the OG, proved a flavorful start to our meal. The perfectly seasoned octopus was complimented by zesty lime and fresh cilantro, canchas and crispy plantains. The gentlemen decided on a Miami Cubano, traditional but with a slight twist and a traditional Aji Panca chicken dish coddled by papas and a house aji aioli that could be added to any dish on the table.
A roasted pork dish immersed in a house mojo, was a simple choice, but melted in your mouth and was passed around the entire to all. The table was rounded out by an Argentinian red shrimp dish sauteed with a dry white wine, fresh tomatoes and was topped off with a kick of fresh cilantro.
The tropical voyage lasted only a few short hours, but well worth the journey! The “Best Bite” by far goes to the Octopus Ceviche! Go and see for yourself and buen provecho!
